BlackBerry PlayBook: New Rival to iPad?

BlackBerry released a promotional video on their new PlayBook due early next year.  Samsung is also releasing the Galaxy Tab, which is also poised to be an Apple iPad competitor.

Here's a preview of the BlackBerry PlayBook.  What do you think about it?

It's got potential, but i'm not so sure i'd like owning a large scale device dependent on blackberry software. I've just never been a real fan of the system.

the playbook has a high specs compare to the ipad and galaxy tab. the only problem about those is the price.

I'm not really familiar with BlackBerry, but I believe that Galaxy Tab will outperform iPad, although it will NEVER outsell it.

All they did was bite an idea. What they should have done is make a foldable screen.

Fascinating, I wonder how well it will compete in the market! It looks good.

Thanks for the post and continuing support!

At least RIM isn't giving up!

BLUERAD said...

I think its going to be pretty good for RIM. Basically it has everything the IPAD can't do, and its functionality is really good with other blackberries too. Overall, i'm not sure if it will click.. But we'll have to wait and see, thats because I have never really used any of Blackberry's products but a lot of my friends and my whole family is using it except me

I think i'm going with the kindle

This is great!

jj_srk said...

i doubt it'll really compete though... the usability of black berry products is def not the easiest out there

iPad is like 5 years late, it deserves no sales, Apple could do much better in my opinion.

I hear this one is alright, The samsung galaxy is suppose to be the best.

I have to say that this is definitely making me not waste my time trying to save up for an ipad. Just going to either get this when it comes out or one of the Android driven ones. Something that lets me do more then one thing at a time. Thanks for the awesome info yet again.

Great post man. Keep in touch... Look forward to more.

I doubt it would because apple already has a strong userbase.
Who knows!

Never quite saw the appeal of tablets until I got hooked on Android!

I guess...

i thought the iPad sucked donkey balls, now we need another tablet?

i dont really understand them. why not just get a laptop or netbook.

jester said...

Looks cool but they are so impractical for 95% of the population. I'll stick with my IPhone.

However, if it ever came down to me requiring a tablet, it'd come down to the specs for sure. I am not brand bias.

More competition is always good!

the only great thing about the ipad is the option to get one that has 3g capabilities. very useful.

I think the iPad needs some good competition, and this is certainly it! Good post!

I could never buy an iPad, but these new tablets look like powerful gadgets. Thanks for posting this.

Jed Browne said...

If they stuck an Apple emblem on the back of this it would have way more cool factor.

anontcotrol said...

I would prefer this to the ipad

Anonymous said...

YOu know, Apple has already sold more than enough iPads, so these new tablets wont be real competitors..

AnnoNeuvo said...

I'll just stick to my computer... :P

Looks interesting. I only wish the preview was a bit more literal, though. I know we'll see better demonstrations later on.
